Our team consists of physiotherapists with extensive continuing education in Manual Therapy. All of our therapists are currently pursuing the Fellow of CAMPT (Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy) designation and are trained to identify complex neuromusculoskeletal dysfunctions.

Our therapists have experience in treating a wide variety of injuries, from chronic spinal issues, postural dysfunctions, running injuries, acute sports injuries, post-operative treatment and Motor Vehicle accidents (MVA).


Our Team

Patrick Simmons | PHYSIOTHERAPIST 
BScKin, MHScPT, Dip.Manip.PT, FCAMPT, CGunn(IMS)

Patrick Simmons is originally from Dalhousie, New Brunswick. In 2008, he completed his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with honours at the University of Moncton. After completing a Masters of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa, he began working in private orthopaedic practice.


Pat received his Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and has been a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) since 2015. He believes in a client focused “hands on” approach to assessment and treatment. He also has his Part B with the McKenzie Institute International and has completed an introductory course with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. He has also followed advanced training through the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is a Gunn IMS certified practitioner. This accreditation allows him as a physiotherapist to perform intramuscular stimulation and dry needling.

Pat has played soccer for the past 20 years, including two years with the University of Moncton varsity team. He has also coached youth soccer for several summers and strongly believes in team work.



Sébastien Laplante | PHYSIOTHERAPIST 
MHScPT, BHScHK, MCPA, CGunn(IMS)

Sébastien Laplante is originally from Bourget, Ontario. In 2008, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Health sciences (specialization in Human Kinetics) at the University of Ottawa. After completing a Masters of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy at the University of Ottawa in 2010, he began working in private orthopaedic practice.


Seb is looking forward to pursuing manual therapy courses with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He believes in a client focused "hands on" approach to assessment and treatment. He has his Part C with the McKenzie Institute International and has completed Shoulder specific courses with Lyn Watson. He is also qualified to use dry needling as a therapeutic tool.

Seb plans to continue manual therapy level courses, with a goal of becoming a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapists and a Certified MDT practitioner (McKenzie Institute). Other areas of interest are Intramuscular Stimulation and Return to sport rehabilitation.



Pierre Perron | PHYSIOTHERAPIST 
B.Sc(PT), FCAMPT, CGunn(IMS)

A graduate of the University of Ottawa Physiotherapy program, Pierre officially joined the Advanced Concepts in Physiotherapy team in 2019. From 1998 to 2008, Pierre was a Registered Massage Therapist (Ontario), treating a variety of office and sports-related injuries, and promoting injury prevention.


While being a therapist and clinic owner, he continued his professional development with courses such as Myofascial Release, Muscle Energy and Cranio-Sacral Techniques before embarking in full-time studies to become a Physiotherapist. Pierre obtained his Diploma in Advanced Manual & Manipulative Therapy in 2016, and became a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) In 2019, he obtained his certification in the Gunn IMS dry needling system. He continues to seek more courses in fascial, neurodynamics, chronic pain, and temporomandibular (TMJ) dysfunctions.

Pierre’s athletic background ranges from cycling (road and mountain), track, cross-country and road running. He has qualified twice to represent Canada at the World Duathlon Championships, as well as the World Solo 24-hour Mountain Bike Championships. Following the completion of his Physiotherapy program, he completed an 11,000 km cycling trip across Canada.



Stéphanie Therrien | PHYSIOTHERAPIST 
BScKin, MHScPT, RYT

Stéphanie, a bilingual physiotherapist, joined the physiotherapy world in 2012 to further fuel her keen interest in Human Kinetics. In addition to her Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy, Stéphanie has completed a variety of post-graduate courses, including dry needling and multiple certifications in pain science which helps manage pain, restores function and facilities a speedy recovery. She is also certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA).


As a classically trained dancer, Stéphanie developed a strong passion for movement and control of the human body at an early age. She’s an enthusiastic therapist, with attention to detail, and a strong ability to help people achieve their physical goals.

In early 2016, Stéphanie became a certified yoga instructor to widen her knowledge and perfect her understanding of movement, breathing, and motor patterning. This notion allows her to blend her expertise in physiotherapy with therapeutic yoga to help people restore movement and function.

Stéphanie strives to maintain a healthy lifestyle and enjoys a variety of activities such as running, weight training, swimming and beach volleyball. She’s also an avid traveler always looking to discover new places. Stéphanie is a full member of the Royal Academy of Dance and has performed in cities across North America earning several awards including a National Title with Dance Canada 2010.


Martine Villeneuve | PHYSIOTHERAPIST 
BScKin, MHScPT, Dip.Manip.PT, FCAMPT

Martine Villeneuve is originally from Saint-Pascal Baylon, Ontario. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences with a specialization in Human Kinetics in 2009 and her Masters of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy in 2011 at the University of Ottawa.


She believes in an individualized patient oriented approach combining evidence based manual therapy and rehabilitation exercises to achieve personal goals. She has pursued a variety of postgraduate courses including:

  • Acupuncture and dry needling
  • Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction
  • Part A and B with the Mackenzie Institute International
  • Advanced shoulder specific courses through Lyn Watson
  • Concussion and vestibular rehabilitation
  • Martine also obtained her Diploma in Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy and is a Fellow with the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT).

    Her desire to learn never stops growing. One of her objectives is to continue her studies through The Postural Restoration Institute in order to help her patients achieve their functional and movement based goals.

    Martine aspires to maintain and promote a healthy lifestyle. She enjoys running, hiking, HIIT workouts, gardening and traveling. She is family oriented and likes to spend time at the family orchard with her family.


    Sydney St-Germain | PHYSIOTHERAPIST 
    BScHK, MHScPT

    Sydney graduated with a Master of Health Sciences in Physiotherapy from the University of Ottawa, in 2020, as well as with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics, in 2018. She has gained experience in various fields, such as orthopedics, neurological rehabilitation, nephrology, family medicine, and cardiovascular rehabilitation.


    This exposure allows Sydney to analyze and implement a personalized plan of care for each patient. She has also pursued a shoulder management course (Subacromial Sensitivity), with the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute.

    Sydney grew up playing many sports. She had the honour of representing the University of Ottawa as a member of the Varsity Women’s Soccer team. During her undergraduate degree, the team earned a Bronze Medal at the National University Championships. Throughout her athletic career, Sydney sustained multiple sport-related injuries. The varying levels of care she received during her own rehabilitation motivated her to provide the highest level of patient care in physiotherapy.

    Exercise and well-being have always been a passion for Sydney. She held a certification as a Personal Training Specialist for 2 years, allowing her to apply specific exercise-based treatment with her patients.

    Once you enter the clinic you will feel right at home. All assessments and treatments are completed in a private room. We thrive to offer one-to-one assessment and treatment with ongoing education to prevent further injuries and to allow you to live a healthy active lifestyle.
